If you do not see an Internet Connection Wizard, then Outlook 2000 has already been used

If you do see a setup Wizard, start with step one below.

Create a new Internet Mail Account.

, type your name as you would like it to appear in your "From:" field.

if you have ordered Birch DSL or T-1 Internet service, and then click

1. Open Outlook 2000.
2. Click on Tools.
3. From the drop-down menu, select Accounts.
4. The Internet Accounts window will open.
5. Click on the Mail tab.
6. Click Add.
7. Click Mail from the drop-down menu.
8. The Internet Connection Wizard will open.
9. Enter your name as you would like for it to appear in the From field of outgoing messages.
10. Click Next.
11. In the E-mail address field, enter your full e-mail address.
12. Click Next.
13. Select POP3 from the drop-down box.
14. In the Incoming mail server, enter "pop.birch.net"
15. In the Outgoing mail server, enter "smtp.birch.net"
16. Click Next.
17. Enter your account name. Your account name is your full e-mail address.
18. Enter your e-mail password.
19. Do NOT check "Log on Using Secure Password Authentication".
20.. Click Next.
21. You will now need to select the method you will use to connect to the Internet.
22. Select "Connect using my local area network (LAN)" if you have Birch DSL or T1 Internet Service.
Select "Connect using my phoneline" if you have Birch Dial-Up Internet Service.
23. Click Next.
24. Click Finish.
25. You are now ready to send and receive e-mail messages.
