Windows NT dial-up configuration instructions
- Begin
by doubleclicking on My Computer.
- Doubleclick
the Dial-Up Networking icon.
- Click
on New.
- If
the New Phonebook Entry Wizard window
appears, check the box labeled I know all about phonebook
entries and click Finish.

- The
New Phone Book Entry window will automatically appear.
Put a check next to USE TELEPHONY DIALING
PROPERTIES, type Birch.net as the
entry name, and enter the local
access number for your area.
- Click
on the Server tab.

- Put
checks next to TCP/IP & Enable software compression
ONLY.
Click on TCP/IP settings button.

- Put
a bullet next to server assigned IP address, server assigned
name server addresses, and checks next to the bottom 2 options.
- Click
OK.
- Click
on the Security tab.
- Make
sure there is a bullet next to Accept any authentication
including clear text.
- Click
OK. Then click dial.
- Type
in your User name and Password.

- Make
sure the Domain field is blank.
- Click
OK.
- Your
computer is now ready to connect to the internet.
