Open Outlook Express

Click on TOOLS on the top menu

From the drop down menu, click on ACCOUNTS

The Internet Accounts window will appear

Highlight the mail account and click PROPERTIES on the right side.

This will display the PROPERTIES window

Click on the ADVANCED tab

Make sure there is NOT a check mark next to "Leave a copy of messages on the server."

Microsoft Outlook

1	Open Microsoft Outlook
2	Click on TOOLS in the menu at the top
3	In the drop down menu, click on Services or Accounts (depending on the version of Outlook you are using)
4	Highlight the Internet Account and click Properties.
5	This will bring up the Outlook Properties window
6	Click on the ADVANCED tab
7	Make sure that there is NOT a check next to "Leave a copy of messages on the server."

Open Netscape Communicator

Click on Edit in the menu at the top

In the drop down menu, click on PREFERENCES

This will display the PREFERENCES window.

Click on Mail & Newsgroups on the left side to expand the menu

Select Mail & Newsgroups from the expanded list

On the right side of the screen you will see Incoming Mail servers

Highlight the Birch account and click Edit

This will display the Mail Server properties window

Click on the tab that says Pop

Make sure there is NOT a checkmark next to "Leave messages on server".
