Atlanta – November 17, 2014 – Birch Communications, Inc., (“Birch”) a leading technology service provider of IP-based communications, broadband, cloud and IT services to small, mid-sized, enterprise and wholesale businesses, marks its second year as the main sponsor of the Freedom Fest 5K Run Walk and Obstacle Course held in Emporia, Kansas.
The Freedom Fest 5K Run Walk and Obstacle Course honors those who have served in the military and raises funds for families of military reserve members. “We are thankful for the opportunity to honor and celebrate our nation’s servicemen and women and the sacrifices they have made,” said Christopher Ramsey, Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer at Birch. The Run Walk took place on Sunday, November 9, 2014 and more than 300 people attended, doubling turnout from the previous year.

The company’s sponsorship helps us continue to provide support for the veterans in our communities each year,” said City Commissioner Steve Harmon. Emporia, recognized as the founding city of the Veterans Day holiday in the United States, has held the Freedom Fest 5K Run Walk since 2002.
